Professor Steve Moran, MD

Dr. Steve Moran is Professor Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and an internationally renowned expert in upper extremity surgery and reconstruction fo the spine and pelvis.

Dr. Moran is the prior chair of the Division of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and the surgical director of hand transplantation at Mayo Clinic's Essam and Dalal Obaid Center for Reconstructive Transplant Surgery. He was the ASRM Godina Fellow in 2012 and the ASSH Bunnell Fellow in 2008. Dr. Moran is also a founding member of ASRT.

Dr. Moran's research focuses on the use of regenerative medicine for reconstruction of skin and tendon defects, vascularized composite allotransplantation of the hand and face, as well as the cause and treatment of wrist arthritis. Dr. Moran's clinical practice focuses on disorders of the upper extremity as well as microsurgical reconstruction of traumatic and oncologic defects, with primary interests in congenital hand surgery and wrist arthritis.
